Friday's Five O' Clock Drink Recipe

It’s five o’clock, and it is Friday! Let’s make a drink!

The Mint Julep is a classic summertime drink; however, because it has been 75 degrees in New Orleans today, I feel the drink is still appropriate. Also, I think the taste of mint reminds me of Christmas.

Mint Julep

4 sprigs fresh mint leaves
1 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 jiggers Bourbon Whiskey

Crush mint leaves and sugar in a 12-ounce glass. Fill with cracked ice and whisky. Stir until glass frosts. Decorate with mint sprig.

This recipe is from the drink book, The New Orleans Bartender. You can buy it in The Louisiana General Store on our website. Enjoy!

A perfect place to get a Mint Julep is at the Sazerac Bar inside The Roosevelt Hotel.
