Check out our cooking classes!

We are located in a renovated molasses warehouse built in the early 1800s in the heart of the French Quarter. Classes are held seven days a week located at 524 St. Louis Street, between Chartres and Decatur in New Orleans. Cooking classes are taught by local chefs trained in the traditions of Cajun and Creole cuisine, offering private group classes and special events.

Cooking Classes:

Group Demonstrations– These demonstrations can be reserved for groups of 25 up to 200. There are morning, afternoon, and evening classes available at $25.00 a person. You must pick one dish per course and the meal is prepared while you watch and will be served with water, iced tea, lemonade, and Abita beer. Copies of the recipes are included and pralines are demonstrated and served in every class.Menu options for demonstrations come from a variety of three different courses:Soup options include, Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo, Corn & Crab Bisque or Shrimp & Artichoke Soup.

Entrée Options include, Chicken & Smoked Sausage Jambalaya, Chicken Creole, Shrimp Creole, Crawfish Etouffee, or Chicken Etouffee.

Desert Options include, Pina Coloda Bread Pudding, Mini Pecan Pies or Bananas Foster.

*Pralines are demonstrated and served in every class!

Group Hands-On Course– This course is for those more interested in every detail. With a group of eight or more you can participate in the New Orleans School of Cooking’s “Group Hands-On” course. These classes are Monday-Sunday at anytime, are three hours long and include the preparation of four menu items. Groups must be set prior to booking class and the cost is $125.00 per person.From the hands-on menu there are four courses to choose from:Appetizer choices include Shrimp Remoulade, Stuffed Mushrooms, New Orleans BBQ Shrimp or Oyster Rockefeller.

Soups choices include, Shrimp and Artichoke Soup, Shrimp Bisque, Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo or Corn & Crab Bisque

Entree options offered are Crawfish Etouffee, Chicken Etouffee, Chicken & Cajun Smoked Jambalaya, Shrimp Creole or Chicken Creole.

Desert choices include Traditional Bread Pudding, Sweet Mini Pecan Pies or Bananas Foster Crepes.
